53.8% of Cincinnati voters voted to repeal Article XII or, as it was also known, Issue 3. Approved by Cincinnati voters in 1993, Article XII prohibited Cincinnati’s City Council from granting members of the LGBTQ community “minority or protected status, quota preference or other preferential treatment.”
